We provide free, volunteer first responder coverage at UofSC events and events in the surrounding Columbia community that expect large attendance.

What are standbys?

Gamecock EMS offers free EMS standbys at special events and large crowd gatherings on the UofSC campus and in the surrounding Columbia community. Our team of certified EMT's standby on-site with a full complement of Basic Life Support equipment to respond in the event of a medical emergency or traumatic injury. Our teams act as first responders only, and do not offer any kind of transport to the hospital. Gamecock EMS works closely with surrounding agencies, such as RCEMS, CPD, and USCPD to ensure that all public safety needs are met.
